María Consuelo Lozano Celis is a psychiatrist from Medellín, Colombia.
She decided to enter medical school to be able to become a psychiatrist as she was fascinated by the world of dreams and intrigued by the relationship of mind, soul and body.

She graduated from medical school in 1996 at the Instituto de Ciencias de la Salud and, in 2000, from her psychiatry residency at the Universidad de Antioquia, both in her hometown of Medellin, Colombia. That was also the year when she came to the USA.

In 2011 she again completed a full residency training program, this time at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. During this time she participated in the fellowship program at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia.

María has also enjoyed the cooking world, she attended the culinary arts program at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and started and for a while managed a family owned restaurant business in her hometown, Medellín.

She worked at the Berryhill Center for Mental Health in Iowa where she practiced as a general psychiatrist and served as medical director.

She relocated to Pennsylvania in late 2016 where she lives with her husband and her son. She has been in private practice focusing on individual adult therapy since 2018. She is particularly interested in dreams as a source of inner wisdom and dreamwork as a path to healing, self-awareness and a richer life.
