cris fick, m.ed.
After graduating from West Chester University (1995) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education, Cris worked as a special education teacher in PA schools. She later earned her Master of Arts degree in Education from Gratz College (2007). As a certified teacher in Pennsylvania, Cris has extensive training in programs that work to produce academic and functional life success.
Her training and passion led to the founding of Fick Educational Services, FES, in 2014 as a place to aid families in meeting educational needs of all degrees. Because of her extensive expertise in working through IEPs and 504 Plans, she has become a valued advocate for many families walking through this process. Cris’s collaborative approach reinforces a spirit of cooperation between families and school personnel. She is passionate about delivering education and advocacy that fosters confidence and encourages individuals to be successful learners. She is excited about the opportunity to offer these services to families connected to Building Bridges.
FES also offers other educational services such as one on one tutoring, study skills courses, social skills small groups, and homeschool services. The FES team consists of certified teachers offering individualized tutoring in all subject areas for preschool through 12th grade and beyond. FES’s Study Skills/Executive Function Course has been used for training in public schools and can be run in a group setting or individually.
Much of the business focuses on those with learning disabilities, other health impairments, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, behavioral challenges, social skills needs, gifted support, and educational needs of all degrees. The FES team is here to partner with parents to support their children’s educational paths.
