Brenda Pemberton, MHS
For more than 35 years, Brenda is widely recognized in the Philadelphia area for her clinical expertise in working with children, adolescents, young adults, families, and couples. A master at connecting with a wide variety of people from ethnically and culturally diverse populations and engendering their trust, she brings her beautiful spirit, captivating warmth, and discerning eye for seeing possibilities in every person and circumstance. People consistently report feeling more comfortable, hopeful, and motivated after leaving sessions with her.
Prior to her private practice, Brenda was the Chief of Child Life Services at the Child and Family Inpatient service at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic and Director of the the Cherry Day Treatment Program in Camden, New Jersey. She was also Program Director for the Partial-Hospitalization Unit and Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit at Friend's Hospital in Philadelphia. She has extensive experience in clinical supervision of family therapists, utilizing a family systems model. She earned her MHS from Lincoln University in 1981.
