Andrew Jara, LPC
T:
Andrew Jara is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has extensive training and experience helping clients break unhealthy cycles and find new ways of approaching their problems. With a special focus on treating depression, anxiety, and reliance on substances, he works carefully to develop a collaborative approach to treatment. By connecting with people where they are, he builds a powerful relationship that he believes is central to creating healing and growth.
Another core element in his approach is the belief that a person’s emotions are not barriers to progress, but rather important guiding forces that lead the way toward effective change. By creating a non-judgmental space where clients can more fully understand their emotions and experiences, Andrew helps them use this newfound self awareness to feel more energized in navigating life’s challenges.
As the work unfolds, Andrew will help clients develop and utilize new skills that will enable them to achieve goals that were previously out of reach. Clients will discover vital strengths in session that they will then learn to carry beyond the therapeutic space. His highest aim is to empower clients to feel confident in being their truest self in their everyday lives.
Andrew earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Immaculate University. He has provided treatment to clients with a focus on cooccurring substance use struggles, utilizing modalities such as Motivational Interviewing and Person-Centered Therapy.
