Dr. Joel S. Edman is a Clinical Nutritionist, Certified Health Coach and Wellness Program Consultant with 25 years of clinical, teaching and research experience.  He specializes in developing nutrition and lifestyle programs with people that combine the most effective use of dietary guidelines and nutritional supplements, as well as holistic therapies for everything from chronic and complex symptoms and conditions, to optimal wellness and disease prevention.  One of his areas of expertise is the development of nutrition, lifestyle and integrative health programs for patients and clients with depression, headaches, fatigue, mild cognitive impairment, Parkinson’s Disease, etc (neuropsychological symptoms/disorders).  He can also address these at the same time that he provides guidelines and suggestions for heart disease, a cancer diagnosis, stomach and intestinal symptoms/disorders, women’s health issues, and other disorders such as lupus, fibromyalgia, etc.  His consultations focus on plans that are individually tailored and practical so that they meet the unique needs and characteristics of each person.  He knows just the right combination of approaches that get the best results.

Dr. Joel was the Director of Integrative Nutrition and Associate Research Director at the Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine, Thomas Jefferson University and Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, for over 11 years.   Prior to that experience, he was the Director of Nutrition and Research Coordinator at the Atkins Center for Complementary Medicine, New York, NY, for 10 years.  He received his master’s degree in clinical nutrition from Drexel University and his doctorate in nutritional sciences from Boston University.  He is also a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition and a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), as well as author/coauthor of over 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
